About

Los Angeles-based producer and multi-instrumentalist Auxjack makes beats that evoke the same naturalism and feeling of meditation as all great lofi music. His style is defined by his tendency to eschew samples and compose instrumentals from scratch, with an organic, bottom-up approach that showcases both his formal training and his decades of musical experience. Auxjack’s take on lofi draws both on his upbringing playing in pop-punk and emo bands as a teenager and on his thousands of hours sitting in the engineer’s chair; he earned a Grammy nomination for his work as a vocal and horns engineer on J Cole’s album “2014 Forest Hills Drive," and he works closely with acts like New Jersey indie pop artist joe p and Boston rapper Sammy Adams.
