About

On her debut “Estudio Sobre el Amor”, latin singer and songwriter Caro Luna embraces influences ranging from Mexican rancheras to Cuban boleros. Raw and intimate canciones of emotional heartbreaks, deep love, and the search for a place to call home, are the bedrock of composer and now solo artist Caro Luna’s material. Raised in Stockholm by Uruguayan parents, Caro Luna’s musical background is influenced by living and travelling in different parts of Latin America, from the early childhood years in Montevideo and Acapulco, to studying music in Habana. She remembers the feeling of sitting on the piano stool next to her grandmother Mireya as a 7-year-old, while she was playing tangos, boleros and classical pieces. A door opened to a magical world she has stayed in ever since. As an acclaimed artist in the Swedish and European latin scene, she has released three solo albums with Caro & El Club Vigil and Tranki, and has toured in Uruguay, Argentina, Spain, Germany, USA, Sweden and Norway. She has performed as a singer on some twenty albums and worked as a musician and background singer for many artists home and abroad. In 2022, Caro Luna released her first solo-album ”Estudio Sobre el Amor”. In the soundscape of pop, brazilian folk, son cubano and the melancholy of Uruguayan milongas, she has found her own expression, playfully crossing musical barriers with her soulful and intimate voice.
