Luba Hilman is a versatile composer, performer, and musician with an educational background from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. Trained as a classical pianist, she combines acoustic instruments with field recordings and electronic sounds, employing analog and semi-modular synthesizers to craft unique sonic landscapes in various styles, including pop, electropop, melodic pop, ambient, acoustic, and cinematic music. Since 2017, Luba has released numerous songs and instrumental works across various genres. Her career spans theater, performance, and media, with music earning international recognition through radio, TV, and film features. She has showcased her work at prestigious festivals like the Edinburgh Fringe and collaborated with Netflix and Universal Music. Notably, the immersive dance performance Floating Life, for which Luba composed the score, received critical acclaim, winning awards at the London New Wave Film Festival, securing an official selection at the Berlin Shorts Award, and participating in the Shanghai International Performing Arts Festival. Luba’s innovative contributions to synthetic genre were recently recognised at the International Competition of Composers and Arrangers. Additionally, she was awarded Third Prize in the “20th Century” category at the International Festival-Competition of Recitation.
