Epidemic Sound believes women and non-binary people must be present in every room – today, on International Women’s Day, and every other day. That’s why we’ve hosted a songwriting camp for 11 of our female and non-binary music artists. Read on to learn more!

Today is International Women's Day and we hope you celebrate this with us, but first off, we’d like to honor the bravery and courage of women and girls affected by wars around the world. In solidarity with them all, we send love and support.

Over the course of three full days, 11 artists came together at M.A.D.E. studios in Stockholm to share, collaborate and create. At Epidemic Sound, we want to make sure we take every opportunity to support underrepresented artists and run initiatives that inspire them. We also want to create a safe space for these talented creators to learn from and support each other. That’s why all attending staff and crew were also female or non-binary.

“Epidemic Sound’s mission to soundtrack the world means soundtracking it for everybody. For that reason, we strive to champion representation and inclusivity. We aim to be a force for good and provide fair opportunities to all creatives, especially women and non-binary artists.
This music writing camp not only supports our mission; it also brings us joy. Hopefully, the platform will open up opportunities for artists who can’t easily access the tools, support, or networks to pursue their passion. The world will be a much better place when there’s musical diversity, created by diverse musicians.”
