Q: What's the most rewarding part vs. the most challenging part about your job as a hip-hop producer and music industry veteran?
A: I enjoy working with new artists. They are still pure; that's the most rewarding. The most challenging part is pushing this business forward; past the outdated, obsolete contracts and business model.
Q: Looking at the music industry today, and when you started working back in days, how has the industry changed from your perspective? What are your predictions going forward?
A: Technology is inevitable, so the changes come from technology, doing what it does. Physical sales are no longer, digital sales are tiny, and streaming is how music is consumed and will continue evolving. Tech will continue to change the landscape.
Q: What's your absolute favorite tune right now?
A: Kalimba Funk by Sango.
Q: What's your best advice for aspiring artists and creators?
A: Stay hungry, master your craft, and stay aggressive in regards to marketing yourself. Stay creative and, above all: have fun and work hard; talent still needs work ethic.
Stay tuned for more news to come! In the meantime, why not get hyped with these hip-hop tracks from our library, or any other of Epidemic Sound's 50,000 top-tier tracks.
