AMBASSADOR STORIES
For me, it’s all been through YouTube. I started making tutorials about three years ago (mostly in the Real Estate Videography niche) and had already used Epidemic Sound for years in my business for client projects. So, that was naturally what I recommended/mentioned as an important part of my video production workflow in my content. Once I realized there was a Community Program, I signed up and started incorporating the links under my videos —and the rest is history! Some of my tutorials gained traction, and over time more people signed up via my links. Eventually, Epidemic Sound reached out to collaborate and we’ve been working together for the past year or so to keep the signups rolling in. That sums it up!
Firstly it’s important to make sure the content you mention Epidemic Sound in is relevant to viewers who'd benefit from it. In my case, it’s video professionals. So I created a monthly series where I focus on adding as much value as possible and including “evergreen” content for long-term performance.
Secondly in this series I use a custom intro that says “Sponsored by Epidemic Sound”, which plays within the first minute of the video. You don’t want to say too much too early, before they get any value from the video — or you’ll lose viewers.
Thirdly at around the four-minute mark, I have a segment specifically highlighting the benefits of Epidemic Sound and my experience of using it. I also add a quick reminder at the end of the video. That seems to work!
Start with short-form content, you’ll build an audience faster.
Growth is exponential and unpredictable, so keep at it for at least a year to see what happens. Quality over quantity is the way to go.
Find at least one person in the same stage as you (or further along) to talk with. It’s a weird path that most people don’t understand!
Don’t overthink it when you’re just starting out — make some tutorials that teach something you’re specifically good at and like doing. It’s fine if there’s already similar content out there; that just means there’s a need for it!
Be realistic and aware that some topics are just too niche to reach a big audience, and that’s okay. Some of my best-performing videos have been about iPhone cameras and not all the other fancy stuff I know how to do!
