Meet Johnny Marr

Catapulted to stardom as co-founder, co-songwriter, and guitarist of seminal Manchester band The Smiths, Johnny Marr is one of the most influential musicians in popular music.

Across more than four decades of musical collaboration, his far-reaching riffs have also colored the anthems of bands such as Modest Mouse, The Pretenders, and The Cribs. He’s got a contact list longer than the dictionary, having worked with legends like Oasis, Pet Shop Boys, Talking Heads, and more.

And if being a revolutionary guitarist, singer-songwriter, and producer wasn’t enough, Marr has taken his talents to the big screen, soundtracking films alongside Hans Zimmer, Pharrell Williams, and Billie Eilish.

All this on top of an awesome solo career, off-the-chain live shows, and even a stint as a university lecturer. Now, together with Epidemic Sound, Johnny Marr is mentoring the next generation.
